R. SCOTT VAUGHN, CPA - PRESIDENT AND CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER
Scott is the president and chief executive officer of GlobalHealth. GlobalHealth provides affordable healthcare coverage to individuals in all 77 counties in Oklahoma.
Before joining GlobalHealth in December 2010, Scott was a partner with a top 10 national CPA and consulting firm for 17 years. During his tenure with the firm, he served as the National Industry Partner providing oversight to the firm’s national healthcare audit, tax and consulting practice. During early 2010, he chaired a task force which researched the monumental health care reform legislation that was signed into law earlier in the year, analyzing the impact of reform on the firm’s healthcare clients throughout the U.S.
Scott has been actively involved in community and civic organizations, most recently co-chairing the Tulsa Area United Way’s Alexis de Tocqueville committee with his wife Kayla. He has also served as the president of the Child Abuse Network, a member of the advisory board for the Salvation Army – Tulsa, and is a member of the advisory board for the Oklahoma State University School of Accounting. In 2008, the Speaker of the Oklahoma House of Representatives appointed Scott to serve on the board of investors for the Oklahoma Tobacco Settlement Endowment Trust.
Scott received his bachelor’s degree in accounting from Oklahoma State University in 1993. Scott and his wife Kayla have two children.
SCOTT POTTER - SENIOR VICE PRESIDENT & CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER
Scott is the Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of GlobalHealth. He is responsible for the accounting and finance functions of the company. Scott previously served as the Chief Financial Officer of PLICO, Oklahoma’s largest carrier of medical professional liability insurance for physicians and hospitals. He also served as Chief Executive Officer of Centennial Health, a large independent physician group, where he led their transformation from fee for service to value based care. Prior to these, Scott was a manager for GrantTornton and KPMG, serving a diverse group of public company clients. Scott holds an MBA from The University of Chicago Booth School of Business and a BS in Accounting from Oklahoma State University.
NANCY J. REED, JD, RN, MPH, CHC, FACHE - SENIOR VICE PRESIDENT & CHIEF COMPLIANCE OFFICER
Nancy is the Senior Vice President and Chief Compliance Officer for GlobalHealth. Prior to joining the health plan, Nancy was a corporate vice president and the chief compliance and privacy officer for INTEGRIS Health, the largest health care system in Oklahoma. Nancy previously directed Medicare operations for the Medicare Part A Intermediary at Blue Cross Blue Shield of Oklahoma. She has also worked as a senior healthcare consultant for BKD, LLP, a national CPA and consulting firm, with extensive acute care hospital experience. Nancy earned a Juris Doctor (JD) from the Oklahoma City University School of Law, a Master of Public Health (MPH) from the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center, and a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing (BSN) from the University of Tulsa. She is certified in healthcare compliance (CHC) by the national Health Care Compliance Association and is a fellow in the American College of Health Care Executives (FACHE).
J. DAVID THOMPSON - SENIOR VICE PRESIDENT & CHIEF OPERATIONS OFFICER
David is the Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer (COO) for GlobalHealth. David brings 19 years of healthcare experience as a former financial controller with a national specialty hospital system where he served as the lead on initiatives that enhanced healthcare data management and reporting. He also acted as a former management consultant with a top 10 national CPA and consulting firm where he served in a client service capacity by identifying and helping implement financial and operational solutions to a national provider client base. David received his Bachelor’s degree in accounting with an emphasis in management information systems (MIS) from Oklahoma State University.
Chris is a Managing Director of Kinderhook and the Chairman of WellCare Health Plans, LLC. Previously, Chris was a partner at Soros Private Equity Partners, a multibillion dollar leveraged buyout fund sponsored by George Soros. He has relevant investment experience in healthcare services, light manufacturing, and business services. Chris graduated from Yale University and received his MBA with Distinction from Harvard Business School.
Louis is a Principal at Kinderhook. He has relevant investment experience in light manufacturing, business services, and healthcare services. Louis graduated from Yale University with a Bachelor’s degree in Economics. Louis is active in emerging trends in the healthcare industry and serves on several boards.
Janet is a retired healthcare executive from Aetna. Responsible for the Midwest and Northeast regions for Medicaid programs, Janet led the implementation of care management programs in Maine, New Hampshire, and Indiana Medicaid. These programs focused on the ABD populations with two or more chronic conditions and a behavioral health condition. Janet also led the implementation of the Illinois Integrated Care pilot program; this program focused on Medicaid AABD and waiver populations. The pilot was so successful in meeting both quality and financial indicators that the State expanded the program into two more regions. From 1992 to 2006, she was the President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Coventry Health Care of Louisiana and Kansas. Under Janet’s leadership, her health plans grew membership, achieved NCQA accreditation, and were financially profitable. Janet has long been an innovator in managed care services, combining new approaches with established best practices to achieve strong results. Janet has earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing, her Master’s as a Family Nurse Practitioner, and her MBA.
W. MARK WATSON
Mark is a director at GlobalHealth and Chairman of the Audit Committee. Mark is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) with over 40 years of experience in public accounting and auditing. He served as lead audit and advisory partner on the accounts of many public companies ranging from middle market firms to Fortune 500 enterprises. He has relevant expertise in the health and life sciences sector, having played a significant role in the development of Deloitte’s audit approach for health and life sciences companies and leading its national healthcare regulatory and compliance practice. He received his undergraduate degree in accounting from Marquette University.
Seth oversees overall company strategy, product design, sales and corporate development for Evolent Health. He is also a member of the Evolent Health Board of Directors. Prior to Evolent Health, Seth was the Executive Director of Corporate Development and Strategic Planning at The Advisory Board Company. Seth started his career as an analyst in the Washington, D.C. office of McKinsey & Company. Seth also serves on the Board of Directors for GoHealth, a leading Urgent Care company. He earned a BS from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where he graduated with Highest Honors, and his MBA from the Harvard Business School. Seth and his wife, Brae, live in Arlington, Virginia with their three children.
Jonathan Weinberg serves as Evolent Health’s General Counsel and is the chief legal officer of the company. Prior to joining Evolent, Jonathan was a Senior Vice President and Deputy General Counsel for Coventry Health Care, Inc., where he supervised many of the operational functions of the Coventry legal department including mergers and acquisitions, federal and state regulatory issues, provider contracting, and Medicare and Medicaid issues. While at Coventry, Jonathan also was in charge of the risk management department. Prior to joining Coventry, Jonathan was an associate and then partner at Epstein Becker and Green, P.C. in the firm’s health care practice, specializing in managed care issues. Jonathan received his BA from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and his JD from the Catholic University of America.
